There is a natural disaster headed your way. You get 4 standard sized canvas grocery totes to fill with valuables and provisions to bring with you to a safe place. What would you put into your 4 bags and why?

I have to say that I absolutely hate these questions. Being from Louisiana, I have to worry about "what to bring" every year. My valuables are already packed into waterproof totes that we can just grab and go. And there is NO way I would ever bring just 4 bags of stuff. You learn to pack fast when you live somewhere that a hurricane can totally devastate your entire life in a matter of minutes.
Has the unfriendly economy caused you to change your spending habits?
Yes. We have cut out all trips outside Lake Charles. We try to only go to one or two places when we are out, and those places need to be in the same area of town. No eating on one side of town, and shopping on the other. We plan out what restaurant and I pick shopping that is nearby. We honestly have changed so much that I can't even tell you exactly how. We just stay home a lot more than we used to, and we complain about the price of gas everytime we leave the house. This economy is depressing. :P
Apologies in advance, but we have to ask... How do you REALLY feel about the New Kids on the Block reunion?
Dumbest reunion evah.
&&& I was a NKOTB fan as a preteen! Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
What's the best movie you've seen so far this summer? Worst?
Best movie so far has been "Iron Man!" It was spectacular!!! I am so glad we went and saw it. Haven't seen any bad movies actually. We have seen "Wall-E," "The Incredible Hulk," and "Hellboy II: The Golden Army." All of which were good. Still have to see "Dark Knight" and "Tropic Thunder!" :D
Walkscore.com recently ranked America's most walkable neighborhoods and cities. Where does your hometown land in the rankings? And how much do you actually find yourself walking instead of driving?
My current location of Lake Charles, Louisiana scores a 38 out of 100, making it car-dependent.
I totally agree with this score. In fact, I am amazed it isn't lower. I hate that I can't walk anywhere unless I am on campus. Even then it's quite a hike to get anywhere, and not pedestrian friendly. I would love to be to either walk or use public transportation, but that just isn't possible here. I do carpool whenever possible!
Here's a short list of where I want to move to, and the scores there. :)
Anchorage, Alaska: 89 out of 100, very walkable! (That makes me sooooo happy!!!!)
Portland, Oregon: 97 out of 100, walker's paradise!!! (OMG! That is soooooooo freakin awesome!!!!)
Seattle, Washington: 89 out of 100, very walkable.
New York City, NY: 100 out of 100, walker's paradise. (Of course, I already knew that. One of the reasons it is so appealing!)
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada: 92 out of 100, walker's paradise! (Yay! Very happy to find that out!!)
In honor of the upcoming Olympics, what could you win a gold medal in?

It's a tie between shopping and sleeping! I am a pro at both! ;) I really think shopping would be my gold medal though. I could shop 7 days a week and not get tired of it! I even enjoy grocery shopping!
Who inspires you to be the person you are today?

I am my biggest inspiration. I see that I can do things that I never thought I could do and that pushes me to be the best me I can be.
My husband inspires me to be the best companion I can be. He helps me to stay focused and helps me push forward. He is always there for me with an uplifting word or a hug. He puts up with me when I'm bitchy or sad. He makes sure I get through the hard times so that I can enjoy the good times.
My daughter inspires me to be the best role model I can be. She will do great things with her life because she sees me doing great things with my life. She inspires me to make the hard choices, to have the hard talks and to relax. I have to show her that you can do anything you put your mind to, but I don't want her to think that you lose all the fun when you focus. I have to balance the two, and she is why I make sure to do that.
If you could take a class right now and learn anything in the world, what class would you take?
I would take an awesome culinary class that taught me the basics of cooking everyday, southern foods. I would love to be able to have a basic knowledge of cooking that I could build on. I am not a bad cook, there just is a lot I don't know. I am slowly learning and reading cookbooks. I think I have decent cooking skills that will get better with time.
I also would love to take a sewing class!!! Making my own skirts would be a dream come true! I am going to learn one of these days, just have to wait until I have the time and money. :)
